The crossing from Andros to Syros is one of the classic Cyclades connections — two islands that feel quite different from each other, yet sit close enough that the ferry ride is genuinely comfortable. Andros has a green, relatively unhurried character; Syros is urban, architecturally grand, and the administrative capital of the Cyclades. Together they make for a compelling combination, and this route is the direct link between them. Ferries run from March through to the end of September, so the season covers spring shoulder travel all the way through peak summer.

Frequency on this route is roughly one sailing a day across the season. That means timing matters — if you miss your departure, you’re generally waiting until the following day. Book in advance when you can, especially if you’re travelling in July or August, when island-hopping demand across the Cyclades is at its highest.
