The Rhodes to Syros ferry route bridges two of Greece’s most distinctive islands — the sun-drenched Dodecanese landmark in the far south-east and the elegant Cycladic capital of the north. It is a long crossing, but one that rewards the effort, carrying you across open Aegean waters from Rhodes’s ancient harbours to the grand neoclassical quaysides of Ermoupoli.
The route runs from March through to October, with around one sailing per day during the season. If you are planning your Greek island itinerary, it is worth booking ahead, particularly in July and August when demand on the Aegean is at its peak.
